OH SNAP! Q is back, baby, and I’m not just talking about bugnuts conspiracy theorists jabbering about satanic baby-eaters.
In the new trailer for season 2 of CBS All Access’s Picard, the return of the beloved trickster, Q (John De Lancie), which was announced in a previous teaser, is made even more explicit. Picard’s crew faces off with the enigmatic Q and borrows liberally from it’s Star Trek: Discovery brethren over the battlefield of time. Jeri Ryan, Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Orla Brady, and, Brent Spiner are returning for this season alongside Patrick Stewart and, intriguingly, we are very likely to see a certain El-Aurian with long-standing beef with Q as well.
Further confounding is the new poster for the season, which seems to show present-day Los Angeles. We all know that LA crumbled into the ocean in 2047 in the Star Trek universe, so something’s up with that. And where the heck are Seven’s Borg implants? Hopefully we get some answers when the new season drops this year. In the meantime, get this trailer in your eyes!
